My name is Ewan and I live in Penicuik, Scotland with my wife Gillian and our nine-year old British shorthair cat Willow.  My first encounter with home baking was at primary school.  My parents would often be making different types of traybakes and various other items for school ‘Sales of Work’, concerts and other parents’ events.  I would often get involved, whether this was measuring out ingredients or stirring mixtures in mixing bowls – it was good fun and I loved helping out!

As I grew up and entered my teenage years, I was trusted more with the tools of the kitchen and started to experiment with my own home baking creations.  My first self-creation was a simple Victoria sandwich, inspiration taken from my grandma’s wonderful sponges.
